How to Use Prestige Deer Punch
Spray Directly on the Foliage
Prestige Deer Punch is easy to mix and apply—just follow the simple instructions below for best results.
Step 1: Mix the Concentrate
To create a ready-to-use spray, you’ll need:
- 8 oz concentrate → Mix with 2 gallons of water and 6 eggs
- 4 oz concentrate → Mix with 1 gallon of water and 3 eggs
The eggs are essential—they act as a natural emulsifier to blend the oils in the formula, ensuring an even spray that won’t clog your sprayer.
We highly recommend using an immersion blender for this step. Simply add all ingredients to a 5-gallon bucket and blend thoroughly. Then pour the mixture into your sprayer. If using a standard blender, blend the eggs, concentrate, and 2 cups of water first, then mix into a larger container with the remaining water.
Tip: Gently shake your sprayer during application to keep the solution evenly mixed.
Why Use Eggs?
Without eggs, the oils in the formula will quickly separate and float to the top. Eggs keep the solution stable, ensuring proper coverage with minimal shaking. Once mixed, store your spray in a cool, dark place. Refrigeration is ideal for longer storage.
How Often Should You Spray?
Most users find that spraying every two weeks offers excellent protection. However, if you live in an area with high deer pressure, consider spraying every 7 to 10 days.
Watch for new growth, especially buds and emerging shoots, which may need protection between applications. Daylilies are a common example of fast-growing plants that benefit from consistent coverage.
You can also add a water-soluble fertilizer to the mix to promote plant health while repelling deer.
